I was pretty skeptical about this place since I don't think most people can pull off fusion food. But, I was genuinely surprised how good this place is. I came here with no expectations but left wanting to come back and keep telling all my friends about it. We got the Nachos Carnitas, Shrimp al Ajillo, Halal Chicken al Pastor Pa' Taquear, and Brussels sprouts. My favorite was the nachos, shrimp, and Brussels sprouts. The nachos are amazing, you have to try the nachos, it was huge, big flavors, and something totally new and un-expecting. The meat dances in your mouth. The Shrimp was garlic, full of flavor, the shrimp was perfectly cooked. I think this shrimp & grits was better than the one at the African Museum. The brussel sprouts were very different, but the flavors mixed really well together. Overall, Solid mexican food, but the food is solid five stars.

First off - great happy hour. Really extensive cocktail, beer and wine list and it goes until 8. Also some very filling food choices, like the nachos. The food, while good, seemed to fall a little short (although our expectations were super high given it's a Katsuji place). The chopped salad was ehh, nachos we're great, and tuna tostada was very fresh. The sides I've had (cauliflower w capers) were the best thing I've ordered. Will definitely be back though

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Just had our second visit (the first being for friends and family, the second just after they opened) and will be making a reservation for a third shortly. It's going to be hard to choose favorite dishes -- but there are some not to be missed: Steak tartare Tuna tostada Charred octopus Arroz fritto Charred corn (seriously, order this first and order it twice) Tempura salmon tacos And the churros (although all of the desserts were great) And that's only two visits. Definitely worth making a reservation or just stopping by and checking them out. Looking forward to visit #3!
